RECAP looking for Thanksgiving donations

RECAP is raising money to buy Thanksgiving dinners for 500 families in the Middletown area.

A $30 donation would be enough to feed a family of four, RECAP said in a press release. Donations from schools, supermarkets, churches and civic groups are down this year, said Ariel Tavares, RECAP’s Nutrition Program Coordinator. RECAP said they will cover the administrative costs, so donations will all go to buy food.

Monetary donations will go further than food, Tavares said, since RECAP can use the money to buy food in bulk for cheaper. For more information on how to donate, call RECAP at 845-342-3978 or visit www.recap.org.
