Middletown public works crews were at a water main break on Adams Avenue late Wednesday morning, the second in as many days in the neighborhood.
Public Works Commissioner Jacob Tawil blamed the breaks on this week’s brutally cold temperatures.
“Old pipes don’t like movement in the ground,” he said.
There was a water main break on Budd Avenue last night, which has been fixed. The water is still on in the neighborhood, but residents may see a drop in pressure or discolored water, Tawil said; later today, the water will be shut off for a bit, probably on Adams between Budd Avenue and Ingalls Street, as the main is fixed.
