Cops: Traffic stop yields $7,500 of heroin

Three Bronx men were arrested Tuesday after, state police said, they found 15 grams of heroin and a small amount of marijuana in their car after a traffic stop on state Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill.

David Monserrate-Torres, 25, Chaz Walker, 27, and Robert Ojeda, 21, were all arraigned in Town of Wallkill Court and sent to Orange County Jail without bail. Police said the heroin’s street value was about $7,500.

They are being charged with felonies on the heroin and a violation on the marijuana.

According to the state police blotter, they were arrested at 12:22 a.m. near Fair Oaks. Monserrate-Torres was apparently the driver and was ticketed for having overly tinted side windows.
