A public hearing will be held in two weeks on the site plan for a proposed 17-building shopping complex near Hannaford in the Town of Wallkill.
The hearing is set for 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, at the town hall on Tower Drive. According to maps just filed with the town, the development will consist of over a dozen buildings, with about 196,000 square feet of retail space between them, surrounded by 879 parking spaces. There will be two entrances — one on Tower Drive and one on Route 211 East.
Two of the buildings will be restaurants, including a “rooftop restaurant” from which, developer Edward Fisher told the Record last year, you’ll be able to see a glimmer of the New York City skyline on a clear day. There will be three spaces with 25,000-30,000 square feet each in them (I think this is the three-story building mentioned in last year’s story); the other building will be smaller, mostly in the 7,000-10,000 square foot range.
Read the older article I linked to for a bit more background on the proposal.
