SUNY Orange to close due to snow

UPDATE: The Symphonic Band concert has been rescheduled to 3 p.m. Sunday. Still at the Paramount.

SUNY Orange will be closed on Saturday, due to the snow, and all activities, including the Holiday Open House and the men’s basketball game against Ramapo JV, are canceled, said college spokesman Mike Albright.

The Symphonic Band is still set to play at the Paramount Theatre Saturday night, though, Albright said. And the college does plan to be open on Sunday, which is the final day of the Holiday Open House. That will run from 1 to 5 p.m. in Morrison Hall and feature an appearance by Santa Claus, Albright said.

The snow is expected to start Friday night and continue Saturday, with the heaviest snow later on Saturday and then turning to sleet. The region should expect 4 to 8 inches.
