West Point Band is BUSY Independence Day week

Today (28 JUN), at West Point, the West Point Marching Band is playing the R-day Oath Ceremony for the U.S. Corps of Cadets on The Plain.

On Thursday and Friday, July 1st and 2nd, the Concert Band is performing with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. Strike Up the Band is the title of the event with the Philharmonic performing Memories of America and An American in Paris. The Concert Band will perform Morton Gould’s West Point Symphony. And, the two historical ensembles will perform together the Armed Forces Medley, Sousa’s The National Game and Stars and Stripes Forever marches. Then, the West Point Hellcats, Jazz Knights and Concert Band will perform on 3 JULY at 8 p.m. celebrating Independence Day at the Trophy Point Amphitheatre. July 4th is the raindate. This is also the Change of Command of the West Point Band from Lt. Col. Timothy J. Holtan to Maj. Jim Keene.

July 4th, the West Point Marching Band will march down the street of Highland Falls to lead the Independence Day Parade.
