Bethel Woods awards 15 scholarships to its summer workshops

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has awarded scholarships to 15 local students (grades 2-10) for its Summer Stages workshops, which began Monday at Bethel Woods.

The workshops are “Broadway in Bethel” and “Youth Opera Experience,” hands-on classes in which the students learn how to put on, then produce, stage shows (“The Wiz” and “Babes in Toyland”).

The scholarships were awarded to children at the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Clubs, the Department of Family Services and the Nora Cronin Presentation Academy in Newburgh.

Bethel Woods will host a jazz instructional workshop, “All that Jazz,” starting July 28. It’s reserved for children in grades 6-10.
