Comedy series planned for Middletown Paramount

A press conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to announce a series of comedy shows at the Paramount Theater in Middletown.

The series begins Oct. 26 with Larry Miller, a well-regarded character actor who made his mark as a shady doorman on “Seinfeld.” It will continue through May, when the annual Hoboken International Film Festival comes back to the Paramount, May 30-June 5.

The chairman of the festival – and now chairman of the Paramount – Kenneth Del Vecchio, will be shooting a film in Orange County starting in January. That film, “Rock Story,” will serve as the HIFF’s opening-night film. Del Vecchio also will be running a contest, in which budding comedians will compete to open one of the comedy shows and have a speaking role in the movie “Rock Story.”
