U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-Cold Spring, is polling his constituents to see what they think about possible airstrikes against Syria.
“Before Congress authorizes military action of any kind, I want to see more details from our commander-in-chief and military leaders and hear the thoughts of my neighbors like you,” he says. “The use of chemical weapons is unacceptable and requires a unified response, but we should not engage in another open-ended, costly conflict involving the potential use of ground forces in the Middle East.”
Maloney said the same thing in a statement when the Record asked him about it earlier this week.

U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, R-Kinderhook, who has said he opposes military action and will vote “No,” is similarly polling his constituents on the issue.
