O’Donnell mocks Maloney for AG campaign travels

Republican House candidate Jim O’Donnell mocked Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney for campaigning around the state for the attorney general Democratic primary, asking “have you seen your congressman?” in a press release on Friday.

The third-term congressman is competing with three other Democrats in a primary on Thursday, and has been making campaign stops in New York City, Long Island and upstate cities to drum up support for that run. O’Donnell, an Orange County legislator and retired police commander from Goshen, accused Maloney of shirking his congressional duties, and called him arrogant for planning to run for re-election in November “if he loses the job he really wants.”

“It’s unconscionable,” O’Donnell said. “The people of the 18th congressional district are rightly outraged. They have my word: I will give them the representation they deserve.”
