Maloney leads Dem AG rivals in late fundraising

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney has reported raking in more than $260,000 in campaign contributions greater than $1,000 for his attorney general run so far in September, swamping the combined amount collected by all three Democratic rivals competing with him in a primary on Thursday.

The 24-hour notices filed by the campaigns indicate the Cold Spring Democrat’s late donations included two for $21,000, one for $11,000 and eight for $10,000, while the highest contribution for any of the other candidates was $5,775. The total hauls in September in donations over $1,000 were $54,225 for Zephyr Teachout, $22,250 for Letitia James and $6,400 for Leecia Eve.

James, the New York City public advocate, had led the field in cash on hand at the end of August, with almost $870,000 in her account in the last disclosure reports. Teachout and Maloney both had reported close to $500,000 on hand, and Eve had around $43,000.
