Four mayors endorse Maloney for re-election

Four city mayors in New York’s 18th Congressional District, including one Republican, endorsed Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney for a fourth term in an announcement from Maloney’s campaign on Monday, eight days before the election.

“Sean has worked to make sure that Port Jervis gets key federal investments to rebuild our roads and bridges, and he pressured Metro-North to do the right thing and make our train station accessible to people with disabilities,” said Port Jervis Mayor Kelly Decker, a Democrat. “I’m proud to support him.”

Maloney also was endorsed by Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano and Newburgh Mayor Torrance Harvey, both of them Democrats, and by Poughkeepsie’s Republican mayor, Rob Rolison.

“Sean doesn’t just talk about working across the aisle, he actually does it,” Rolison said.
