Delgado ahead of Faso in Monmouth University NY19 Poll

Democratic challenger Antonio Delgado led Republican Rep. John Faso by five points in a Monmouth University poll in New York’s 19th Congressional District.

The Rhinebeck attorney received 49 percent support compared to 44 percent for the first-term incumbent, according to poll results released on Tuesday.

In a model that anticipates a “surge” of Democratic voters, support for Delgado rises to 51 percent with Faso at 43 percent. A model anticipating low turnout still gives Delgado the edge at 48-46. The poll’s margin of error is 5.1 percent.

Steven Greenfield, a Green Party candidate for the 19th District, had 1 percent support and unspecified other candidates received 2 percent. Independent Diane Neal is the only other candidate running for Faso’s seat.

Monmouth polled 372 likely voters by phone between Oct. 24 and 28.
