MIDDLETOWN – With five championship games being played right in our backyard on Sunday, I thought I would shoot video of all five celebrations.
The elation.
The heartbreak.
This is why they play the game.
There is a bit of both of those emotions in the video above. I also caught a bunch of shirtless Livonia fans rallying the troops, as well as the strange postgame emotions after Ichabod Crane and Livonia played to a 0-0 draw and were declared co-champions in the Class B title game.

I also wrote a story for Sunday’s paper on how the new rule regarding academy players played a role for the teams that made it to the final four. Click here to read that.
With the season over – now is a good time to say “thanks for reading” – it’s time to move on to selecting the Varsity845 all-star team. Your nominations for players and for our coach of the year? Please let me know on Twitter: @THR_Montgomery.
