WASHINGTONVILLE — If the Pine Bush swim team is Batman, then the rest of Section 9 has been playing the part of Robin for the last five years.
Well, it’s a long story, but for more on how Pine Bush’s swim team was inspired to a fifth straight OCIAA meet title by the latest Batman movie, check out Sunday’s Times Herald-Record and Varsity845.com.
Check out the video above for some highlights from the meet, including interviews with Jared Charleston (Monroe-Woodbury), Connor McCarty (Cornwall) and Tyler Alexander and Stephen Lowe of Pine Bush.
There were no new state meet qualifiers in any of the individual events on Saturday, but three 200 medley relay teams punched their tickets to the state finals at Rochester-area Webster Schroeder High School on March 1-2.
New Paltz (Hudson Carroll, Jackson Beveridge, Aodhan Fogarty, Emile Kuyl), Minisink Valley (Zach Vreeland, James Crumm, Nicholas Rosario, Doug Prokopchak) and Pine Bush (Tyler Alexander, Brendin Thompson, Jake Borkowski, Padraic Thompson) are all headed to states.
