Video interviews: Minisink Valley’s Josh Bonneau and NFA’s Terrence Cheeks

Minisink Valley’s Josh Bonneau came out for wrestling for the first time last season.

And a year later? Bonneau’s a state qualifier. Well done. Bonneau, a senior, will represent Section 9 at the Division I state meet this weekend at 220 pounds.

Minisink Valley coach Kevin Gallagher raved about Bonneau’s athleticism and ability to pick up the sport. But who needs Gallagher to talk Bonneau up. He was also a Varsity845 first-team defensive lineman this fall.

Some of his football teammates joke that Bonneau loves to talk himself up. But it’s in good fun. Today, at the Section 9 workout, I talked to two of Section 9’s big guys – Bonneau and Newburgh Free Academy’s Terrence Cheeks (275 pounds).

Cheeks is also making his state tournament debut.
