Burke Catholic’s Core Two: Buczek and Longmire

Just call them the Core Two. Center Stan Buczek and guard Jesse Longmire are the lone holdovers who saw playing time from John S. Burke Catholic’s 2011 Class B state championship team.

Of course, Buczek, a 6-foot-6 center, and Longmire, a versatile guard, are still getting it done. Buczek has been hot in the state playoffs, averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds in two games. Longmire comes off the bench and provides for the Eagles in so many different ways.

The Core Two and the rest of the Eagles take on Long Island’s Amityville in the semifinals of the Class A state playoffs in Glens Falls at 9 a.m. Saturday.
