At the net: Pine Bush doubles streak snapped

Pine Bush were  36-0 at doubles this season heading into its non-league match against OCIAA Division II leader Cornwall.

Cornwall ended Pine Bush’s perfection with two doubles win.

Senior Matt Terwilliger and seventh-grader Lucas Arora knocked off Jim Cappadora and Sammie Nweiran at first doubles 6-3, 7-5. Matt Alvarez and Mike Doulin topped Bryan Walsh and Joe Gwillym in three sets 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 at third doubles.

Pine Bush’s Nick Devine and Austin Custodio improved to 13-0 with a 7-5, 6-3win over Matt Wheeler and Mike Miller.

Cornwall won the match 5-2 to remain undefeated (11-0).
