Marlboro coach Jen Veronesi pulls off a back flip

PATCHOGUE – Before Marlboro’s Class B opening-round state tournament game against Valhalla on Tuesday, coach Jen Veronesi promised her team she would do a back flip if they won.

Marlboro beat Valhalla 11-5. However, Veronesi didn’t channel her inner gymnast. But Veronesi agreed to pull off, not a back flip, but a double back flip before Marlboro took on Babylon in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s College.

Check it out below. Veronesi nailed it!

Veronesi gave me permission to post it if Marlboro won. Of course, Marlboro (22-1) defeated Babylon 8-3. Veronesi is a former softball star in Dutchess County, but doesn’t have a background in gymanstics, she said. Thanks for being a great sport, coach!
