BCANY Mid-Hudson girls basketball team announced

A team of local high school All-Stars will represent the Mid-Hudson region in the third annual BCANY Summer Hoops Fest in Johnson City in early August.

There has been a tremendous amount of talent at this tournament in recent years. Breanna Stewart, who was a star on Connecticut’s run to a national title this past season, had formerly played for the Central team. She played high school basketball at Cicero-North Syracuse in Section 3.

Saniya Chong, who’s headed to UConn this year, previously played for the Hudson Valley team in this tournament. Earlier this year, her Ossining team knocked Monroe-Woodbury out of the state playoffs in a game played at West Point.
