Warwick returns some top shelf talent this season, from quarterback Brad Garcia, to linebacker A.J. Sakac, to tackles James Grennan and Capen Burbank.
Now come the reinforcements.
When Greg Sirico took over as Warwick’s coach, returning for a second term leading the Wildcats, he recruited the hallways for more players. Ever meet Sirico? He’s enthusiastic, positive and passionate.
It wasn’t hard for him to drum up interest in the successful program. This summer, Warwick’s varsity has 50 players. The Wildcats suited up about 35 last year.
As for the reinforcements? Some of the “new” players have played for the program previously and, in part, the Sirico factor made them want to return. Warwick, of course, is part of the pack of Section 9 Class AA contenders this fall.
Three of these return players are projected to start – senior running back Harley Rogers, wide receiver/defensive back Marshall Garcia and offensive lineman Nate Sander, a junior. We have a special Varsity845 guest star to introduce the threesome. Check it out:
