NYSPHSAA boys soccer semifinal updates

MIDDLETOWN – Will Montgomery here in the press box at Faller Field. I’ll be providing updates from the games all day.

10:20: 14 hours and 20 minutes after it started, Saturday’s semifinal rounds are over. Friends Academy beats Lake George, 3-0. I’ll be back tomorrow with more updates, so check back then. Thanks for reading.

10:12: About 5 minutes left in the last game, Friends Academy still leading Lake George.

9:30: Friends Academy leading 3-0 at the half.

9:19: It’s now 3-0 Friends Academy on top with 4:09 left in the first half.

9:07: Oliver Muran has scored to give Friends Academy a 1-0 lead over Lake George. About 15 minutes left in the first half.

8:42: Lansing wins it in OT on Andy Parkes’ goal. The final game of the day, Friends Academy and Lake George, is just underway.

7:48: Williamson and Lansing are headed to OT. Scoreless after regulation. Lake George and Friends Academy were supposed to begin at 7:15. Going to be more like an 8:45 p.m. start for that game at the earliest. Probably going to start after 9.

7:31: Already way behind schedule, looks like we’re heading for another OT game. Williamson and Lansing scoreless with under 16:00 to play. Friends Academy and Lake George coming up in the final game of the day when this one is over.

6:56: Halftime in the first Class C semifinal. Lansing and Williamson are scoreless.

6:24: Jericho hangs on to defeat Goshen, 2-0. Williamson and Lansing are underway in the first Class C semifinal. 10:00 in, still scoreless.

5:45: Chazy just beat Fort Ann in the second OT, 2-1. Dylan Garrow scored the game winner.

5:15: Jericho’s A.J. Pinto with some nifty dribble moves up to the goal and gets off a point-blank shot. Jericho 1, Goshen 0. 32:15 left. Chazy and Fort Ann have begun the first OT period.

5:09: Chazy and Fort Ann are headed to OT. Tied 1-1 after regulation.

4:57: Goshen and Jericho are scoreless at the half. Fort Ann and Chazy are tied 1-1 late in the second half.

4:48: Fort Ann and Chazy are tied 1-1 late in the second half. About 16:00 to play. That’s a Class D semi.

4:15: Goshen and Jericho are underway in a Class A semi. More updates on the Varsity845 championshsip scoreboard.

3:47: In Class D, Jasper-Troupsburg defeated Immaculate Heart Central-Watertown on PKs, 5-4. It was tied 1-1 after regulation and a pair of 15-minute overtime periods. In Class A, Pittsford-Mendon beat Averill Park, 2-0. In the other Class D semi, Fort Ann leads Chazy, 1-0, with 24 minutes left in the first half. Goshen will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the other A semi.

2:36: Pittsford-Mendon up 1-0 over Averill Park at the half. That’s a Class A semifinal.

2:30: Jasper-Troupsburg and Watertown-IHC tied after one overtime. Still 1-1. Headed to a second golden goal OT. Pittsford-Mendon holding on to its 1-0 lead over Averill Park. 4:00 left in the first half of that game.

2:07: Jasper-Troupsburg and Watertown-IHC headed to overtime after playing to a 1-1 draw after regulation.

2:05: Pittsford-Mendon takes a 1-0 lead over Averill Park on a sweet header goal by Matt Renzi. Assist to Ryan Aspenleiter.

1:31: Jasper-Troupsburg’s Dylan Price scores to equalize the game with Watertown-IHC with 34 minutes left in the second half.

1:29: Massapequa’s Dylan Nealis scores off a long throw-in with 3:06 left in the first OT. Massapequa beats Monroe-Woodbury, 1-0. Watertown IHC leads Jasper-Troupsburg 1-0 5:00 into the second half.

12:49 p.m.: Monroe-Woodbury and Massapequa are scoreless after regulation. Heading to OT. Jasper and Watertown are scoreless midway through the first half in a Class D semi.

11:56: That’s a final: Carle Place 3, Ichabod Crane 1. Monroe-Woodbury and Massapequa have also just gone to halftime, still scoreless.

11:53: Carle Place’s John Aydogan scores to make it a 3-1 CP lead with 2:23 to go in the second half. Monroe-Woodbury and Massapequa are scoreless late in the first half.

10:55: Carle Place’s William Chiappone answers with a goal with 2:50 left in the half to give Carle Place a 2-1 lead over Ichabod Crane. Monroe-Woodbury and Massapequa warming up on the grass field. Updates from that game coming on the championship scoreboard on Varsity845.com.

10:52: Ichabod Crane’s Alex Niemann ties it with 5:30 left in the first half. IC 1, Carle Place 1 in a Class B semi.

10:44: Carle Place’s Dylan Klein scores to give the Frogs a 1-0 lead over Ichabod Crane in the other Class B semi.

10:23: It’s a final, Fairport beats Guilderland 3-1. Fairport plays the Monroe-Woodbury/Massapequa winner in Sunday’s state championship game.

10:11: Ichabod Crane and Carle Place are underway. Fairport holds a 3-1 lead over Guilderland with 7:30 to play in the second half.

9:59: Under 20:00 to play in the second half in the AA semi. Fairport 3, Guilderland 1. Carle Place and Ichabod Crane to kick off in a B semi in about 10 minutes.

9:35: FINAL: Westhill 2, Livonia 1. Last year’s state co-champs, Livonia, suffer their first loss of the season. Westhill plays the Ichabod Crane-Carle Place winner. That IC-CP game is coming up next.

9:28: Fairport 3, Guilderland 1 at halftime. In the B semi, Westhill is holding a 2-1 lead over Livonia with just over 6 minutes to play in the second half.

9:11: Bischoff scores again, this time off an assist from Anthony Gaglianese on a free kick. 3-1 Fairport, 15:52 left in the first half.

9:03: Well, that didn’t take long. Fairport’s Matt Bischoff scores to make it a 2-1 Fairport lead with 23:25 left in the first half.

9:00: Goals coming fast and furious here. Guilderland’s Kledis Capollari scores to even the AA semi at 1-1 with 25:10 left in the first half.

8:59: Westhill’s Barak Ben Yehuda scores again to give his team a 2-1 lead with 34:30 left in the second half.

8:52: Guilderland and Fairport are underway in a Class AA semifinal on the grass field. Fairport’s Tom Musso scores as I write that…1-0 Fairport with 31:30 left in the first half.

8:40 a.m.: Livonia and Westhill are tied 1-1 at halftime in a Class B semi on the turf field. Livonia’s Kory Zimmer scored with 10:30 left in the first half. Westhill’s Barak Ben Yehuda answered with 5:37 left in the half.
