Monroe-Woodbury senior forward Bruce Jeter was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s All-American team for the second consecutive season.

Jeter, the only Section 9 player named to the team, was one of three players to make the team in both 2013 and 2014.

This past season, Jeter had 24 goals and six assists, helping to lead the Crusaders to a second straight Section 9 Class AA title.

In the championship game against Warwick, Jeter suffered a broken leg while playing on the defensive end in the final minutes of a 2-1 Monroe-Woodbury win. He has a scholarship to play at Marist College and recently got a vote of confidence from coach¬†Matt Viggiano, who said Jeter’s roster spot is safe when he concludes his physical therapy.

Look for more on Jeter in our Varisty845 boys’ soccer All-Star package, which is tentatively scheduled to run in the paper on Dec. 21.

Jeter was also invited to participate in the High School All-American Game in Raleigh, N.C. this Sunday. Check out the roster here.¬†Obviously, Jeter won’t be able to play because of the injury, but he’s still heading down to take in the festivities.
