Wallkill graduate Raven Pentz, a rising senior at SUNY Old Westbury, helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the World Deaf Basketball Championships in Taiwan on Sunday.

Pentz had won a gold medal – and placed second in tournament MVP voting – at the u-21 World Championships in Turkey last summer.

In the championship game, Pentz finished with five points, nine rebounds and 10 assists in a 68-54 win over Lithuania. USA’s Lindsay Stergio was named tournament MVP and Pentz finished in the top five in MVP voting.

Team USA went undefeated in this year’s championships.
