Jasmine Noteboom, Jackie Grundfast and the rest of Warwick’s tennis team have routinely arrived up 30 minutes to hour early for practices in the preseason.
Players need to stay on top of the team’s practice because of site changes.
Warwick’s home courts are currently under construction. The courts aren’t going to ready until later this month. So, Warwick has split practices at Minisink Valley High School and Warwick Valley Country Club.
Warwick, which opens its season Friday at Newburgh, will play home matches against Valley Central (Sept. 10) and Minisink Valley (Sept. 17) at Warwick Valley Country Club.
Warwick coach Sue Filingeri said this is the first time that Warwick has had to practice and play away from its home court for an extended period in her 18 years. Filingeri said the team played a few night matches at the country club.
Noteboom and Grundfast, who both come from tennis families, talk about the upcoming season.
