NFA boys lax looking up after back-to-back wins

Newburgh Free Academy’s boys lacrosse team did something last week it hadn’t done since 2007.

Win back-to-back games.

The Goldbacks improved to 2-3 with wins over Wallkill and Rhinebeck and that is thanks in large part to a culture change started by first-year head coach Jim Horton Jr.

Check out seniors Angelo Foster and Paul DeVirgilio in the video above to hear more about how the Goldbacks are trying to turn things around on the lacrosse field. Look for the story in Thursday’s Times Herald-Record.

Divisional play will be starting pretty soon, but here’s a quick look at the standings and scoring leaders in Section 9 so far. (If you have any corrections, please let me know: wmontgomery AT th-record.com.
