MHAL tennis championship draws

Wallkill junior Jarrett Monte is the top seed in the singles draw of the Mid-Hudson Athletic League championships.

Monte, who¬† placed second in the Section 9 doubles tournament as a Newburgh Free Academy seventh-grader, opens play against Red Hook’s Ethan Husted in the round of 16.

The MHAL tournament is expected to begin Saturday at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson with early-round singles and doubles action. The finals are slated for Monday at Bard.

New Paltz’s Owen Sheekey and Elijah McKee are the top seed in the doubles draw.
