Section 9 girls tennis singles, doubles draws

Goshen freshman and defending champion Jane Bockman earned the top seed in the Section 9 tournament.

Bockman opens the tournament with Onteora’s Bailey Kretschmer in the round of 16.

Wallkill freshman Emily Savage, the Mid-Hudson Athletic League champion, is the third seed.

Emma Messenger and Grace Messenger, the three-time MHAL champions, are the top seed in the doubles draw. Warwick’s Ava Ghobadian and Jackie Grundfast, the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association champions, earned the second seed.

The tournament begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Match Point Tennis in Goshen. The semifinals and finals will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Match Point.
