Section 9 finalist Jordan Suarez transfers to Minisink Valley

One of the state’s top wrestling programs has added one of Section 9′s top returning lightweights to its lineup.

Jordan Suarez, a 2017 section 99-pound finalist, has transferred from Pine Bush to Minisink Valley, Minisink Valley coach Kevin Gallagher confirmed.

Suarez, a sophomore, advanced to the section final as a fifth seed and finished the 2016-17 season with a 22-7 record.

Minisink Valley, the state’s No. 6 team in the final rankings last season, returns the majority of its lineup that includes a talented senior class of  2017 Section 9 champions Dom Vetrano (a two-time titlist) and Vinny Vetrano, two-time section champion Connor Greiner, two-time section finalist and 2017 state qualifier Joe Yanis and 2017 section finalists Timmy Ganuncio and Andrew Fenner.
