2017 MHAL girls tennis results: Messenger champion again

Marlboro junior Grace Messenger is a Mid-Hudson Athletic League champion for the fourth time.

This time, Messenger claimed her first singles title. Messenger defeated Wallkill’s Emily Savage, the top seed and defending champion, 7-5, 6-0. She had won three MHAL doubles titles with her older sister, Emma.

Messenger avenged regular-season losses to Savage and second-seeded Natalie Meyer of New Paltz en route to the title. She defeated Meyer 6-1, 7-5 to reach the final.
