Boys Baskeball All-State teams: Guerra, Allen, Penn-Cosentino honored

S.S. Seward junior guard John Guerra received his second straight all-state honor.

Guerra, who scored his 1,000th points in February, was named to the Class C fourth team after averaging 26.0 points per game. He led Seward to a 20-0 record in the regular season. Guerra made the state Class D third-team as a sophomore.

The all-state teams released its Class B, C and D teams Monday.

Marlboro senior guard Jaiden Allen earned his second straight all-state recognition, making the fifth team in Class B. Allen (22.5 points per game) helped Marlboro to the Section 9 Class B title. He was a sixth-team pick last season.

Liberty senior guard Roy Penn-Cosentino made the Class B 11th team. Penn-Cosentino scored 20.4 points per game, joined the 1,000-point club and dropped 50 points against James I. O’Neill.
