Dior Johnson transfers to Findlay Prep

Saugerties ultra-talented guard Dior Johnson’s basketball journey has taken another turn.

Findley Prep announced on social media Wednesday that Johnson has transferred to the boarding school in Henderson, Nev.

Johnson started the 2018-19 school year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He did not play a game with IMG before transferring back to Saugerties in December. Johnson made his season debut for Saugerties on Dec. 20 against Pine Plains. He played in eight games for Saugerties, scoring 244 points.

“Dior joins the family from New York and will begin working out with our staff and prepping for next season immediately,” read Findley Prep’s Twitter post.”

Last season, Johnson became the youngest New York state boys basketball player to score 1,000 points at the age of 14. Johnson scored 1,098 points in his seventh and eighth-grade seasons for Saugerties.
