2020 Section 9 BCANY Boys Basketball All-Stars

Pine Bush senior forward Chris Cain, Monticello senior guard Josh Gattling and Chester senior forward Kevin Stein were named players of the year in their respective classes by the Section 9 Basketball Coaches Association of New York.

Cain averaged 23.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and blocked nearly six shots per game for Class AA finalist Pine Bush. He shot 90 percent from the free-throw line.

Gattling led Class A finalist Monticello in scoring at 20.6 points per game and steals (75). He was second on the team in rebounds (147) and assists (96) and finished with 1,067 career points.

Stein helped Chester to a 22-1 record and a berth in the Class B finals. He averaged 18.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals. Stein’s 1,245 points were second in school history.

Newburgh Free Academy’s Frank Dinnocenzio (Class AA), New Paltz’s Stu Robinson (Class A) and Monticello’s Chris Russo (Class A), Chester’s Jon Marsilio (Class B) and Livingston Manor’s Adam Larson (Class C/D) were named coaches of the year.
