Port Jervis senior Daisay Hicks was born without vision in her left eye but that hasn’t stopped her from playing No. 1 singles at Port Jervis. Field hockey: Beesmer headed for B.U.

Kingston senior midfielder Jordyn Beesmer has committed to play field hockey for Boston University starting in 2014-15, according to a note from head coach Deb Eaton. Three pole vaulters headed to Nationals

Dozens of local soccer teams to compete in HV Invite

SUNY Ulster hosts girls’ hoop summer league

SUNY Ulster’s Senate Gymnasium will be hosting the Ulster Girls’ High School Friendship summer basketball league starting Tuesday, July 9. There will be games at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The participating teams this year will be Rondout Valley, Kingston, Highland, New Paltz and Onteora.
