Vespa chooses West Point

Monroe-Woodbury senior Vinny Vespa has verbally committed to Army, coach John Gartiser said. Vespa’s amazing story continues. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma in May 2012 when a tumor, 10 centimeters in size was found in his lungs. Vespa beat the cancer and returned to the mat at the start of the 2012-13 season. Blaine to receive national wrestling honor

Virginia Beach Nationals: Barczak 5th, Wagner 7th

Monroe-Woodbury 120-pounder Evan Barczak rode Knox Fuller of Bradley (Tenn.) in sudden victory to win 8-7 and place 5th at the Freshman Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va.
