New Paltz’s Seward named top SUNYAC coach

SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball coach Jamie Seward was named the SUNY Athletic Conference coach of the year. Seward guided the Hawks to their first SUNYAC regular-season and tournament crowns. New Paltz opens play in the NCAA Division III tournament on Friday against Babson.
Senior forward Alex McCullough was named first team and senior guard Maliqua Fisher was named second team.
Goshen’s Kathleen Payne, a junior guard at SUNY Plattsburgh, was named first team.
Melissa Graham and Allison McKenna of SUNY Geneseo were named the player and rookie of the year, respectively.
