Source: Army offer baseball opening to Boston College assistant

Boston College assistant coach Jim Foster has been offered Army’s vacant head baseball coaching position, according to a source.

Foster, an associate head coach at Boston College since 2014, was the head coach at Rhode Island from 2006 to 2013.

Army fired Matt Reid on May 16 after three seasons. Reid took over for Joe Sottolano, who was fired in the fall of 2013.

Canisius coach Mike McRae was also considered for the position, according to sources. McRae opted to stay at Canisius.
