DeForest tied for eighth at NCAAs

Chris DeForest was sizzling at the second round of the NCAA Division I championship in West Lafayette, Ind. Thursday.

DeForest, an Illinois freshman and 2007 Rondout Valley graduate, had
six birdies on a 10-hole stretch. He finished with a 2-under 70, which
included a double bogey on the par-4, 18th hole.

DeForest is tied for eighth with a two-day score of 1-over 145. He is
six strokes behind second-round leader Billy Horschel of Florida
(5-under 139).

DeForest’s third-round, tee time is 9:13 a.m. Friday.
