DeForest ready for Q School 2nd stage

Chris DeForest, a 2007 Rondout Valley graduate, begins play in the second stage of PGA Tour qualifying school Tuesday at Plantation (Fla.) Preserve Golf Course & Club.

DeForest will tee off for his first of four rounds in four days at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday. He advanced to the third and final stage last season, tying for 82nd and earning the right to play on the Tour this season.

Jespar Parnevik, Notah Begay and Jamie Lovemark are among the golfers in the field of 74.

DeForest was the low golfer in a first stage in Pensacola, Fla. on Oct. 26.
