Small block qualifying finished, 11:43 a.m.
The small blocks conducted three consolation heats, with the top three finishers in each advancing to this afternoon’s 100-lap championship race.
The races were rather uneventful, except for the third race when Martin Gagne had his car start smoking badly while holding the last transfer spot. Gagne was told to pull his car off, and the benefactor was OCFS regular Jamie Yannone, who earned the final spot in the field.
There wil be about an hour break before the introductions for the Eastern States 100. Remember, Brett Hearn is the defending champion starting in row two and Jerry Higbie Jr. of Slate Hill is the top qualifier.
