Three Section 9 boys’ hoop teams invade Beacon
Beacon High School is hosting a girls’ and a boys’ basketball tournament this weekend, the Terrence Wright Memorial.
The girls’ event starts Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. as Beacon faces Roy C. Ketcham, followed by the John Jay-East Fishkill vs. John Jay-Cross River contest.
The boys take center stage Friday night. Pine Bush and Monroe-Woodbury square off at 6:30 p.m., followed by Beacon and Monticello at 8:15 p.m.
Due to the inclement weather heading our way on Saturday, the times for the tournament have been moved up. The girls’ consolation is at 9:30 a.m., followed by the boys’ consolation at 11:15 a.m. The girls’ championship is set for 1 p.m., followed by the boys’ final at 2:45 p.m.
