Track meet postponed until Sunday

Today’s snow forecast has forced a postponement of the Section 9 state qualifier track and field meet at West Point. Snow forecast worries track folks

A Section 9 track and field meet is scheduled for Friday, and that means one thing: more snow in the forecast. Section 9 athletes at Empire State Winter Games

The Empire State Winter Games get underway on Friday in Lake Placid. The tri-county region is sending 33 athletes to the Games, including a large number of alpine skiers and nordic skiers from Section 9 high schools. Check out my ESG blog for athlete rosters and results throughout the weekend.

Saturday track meet postponed

Moseley memorial set for February 23

A memorial to the late Walter Moseley will be held at the Ellenville High School auditorium on Saturday, February 23, at 4 p.m. Moseley passed away at age 42 on February 4 in Florida. Warwick’s Claire Pettit headed to UMass

Standout runner Claire Pettit of Warwick has accepted a full-scholarship offer to attend the University of Massachusetts. Pettit is expected to run all three seasons for UMass, although she still plans on performing with the successful Celtic band called The Cottars. Pettit plays the fiddle, sings and step-dances.
