Spring track begins in earnest

The outdoor track and field season will not wait until the calendar turns to April before starting action.

Tri-Valley will participate in an invitational at Iona Prep on Monday morning. Warwick will host a scrimmage with nearby Vernon (N.J.) on Thursday. Some Tri-Valley athletes will head to Virginia for a relay event on Friday. Newburgh Free Academy is slated to compete in an invitational at New York’s Icahn Stadium on Saturday.

There’s no waiting for league competition as Newburgh plays Pine Bush, Monroe-Woodbury travels to Kingston, Minisink Valley hosts Warwick and Valley Central takes on Washingtonville on Wednesday, April 2.
