Beacon hoops tourney, with four Section 9 teams, re-scheduled
Ah, the perils of hosting winter tournaments.
The sun was shining and the roads were finally drying up, and Beacon High School athletic director Eric Romanino took a moment on Friday afternoon, sighed and said, “What a beautiful day.”
Too bad several school districts had already cancelled school, sending Romanino into re-scheduling mode for the boys’ and girls’ basketball Terrence Wright tournaments at Beacon. All of Friday’s action was cancelled, and here is the updated schedule:
Saturday
11:30 a.m. — Kingston girls vs. John Jay-East Fishkill
1:30 p.m. — Monroe-Woodbury boys vs. Monticello
2:45 p.m. — Beacon girls vs. Brewster
4:30 p.m. — Beacon boys vs. Pine Bush
Sunday
10 a.m. — Girls consolation
11:45 a.m. — Girls championship
1:30 p.m. — Boys consolation
3:15 p.m. — Boys championship
