Faldermeyer wins at Brown Invite with top USA throw

Minisink Valley junior Alec Faldermeyer won the boys’ weight throw competition at the Brown University Invitational on Jan. 2.Faldermeyer posted a USA-best throw of 74 feet, 1 1/2 inches, winning the competition by eight feet, 4 inches. Mount to host NFA-Bishop Maginn game

Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh will host a top-flight high school boys’ basketball game on Saturday at 4 p.m.Newburgh Free Academy will face defending state champion Bishop Maginn. University of Maryland coach Gary Williams attended Bishop Maginn’s last game in his efforts to recruit Division I prospect Taran Blue.
