Faldermeyer named All-American, headed to UCLA

Minisink Valley standout Alec Faldermeyer was named an All-American by Track and Field News magazine. Faldermeyer won hammer throw at the Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Faldermeyer has made a commitment to compete for UCLA, Minisink coach Leyla Williams said.
Faldermeyer ranked second in the nation in the outdoor hammer throw, with a toss of 232 feet, 7 inches on July 19. He represented the United States at the World Youth Championships in Italy, finishing sixth.
