Cuffe named state’s top girls’ cross country runner

Cornwall junior Aisling Cuffe was named the Gatorade New York Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Cuffe won the state Class A title, the state Federation title and was unbeaten this season until placing fourth at the Footlocker nationals.
The award recognizes athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character. Cuffe maintains an ‘A’ average in school, volunteers with local youth running programs and is a member of the Cornwall Math Team.
Cuffe is now a finalist for the national award.
