Section 9 voted unanimously to approve membership for Dover. The Dragons will become the 17th member of the Mid-Hudson Athletic League, and likely will be assigned to either Division Three or Four, the two small-school divisions in the MHAL. Dover is considered a Class B enrollment school for most sports and Class C for others.
Dover High School, from the Eastern Dutchess County town of Dover Plains, has been a member of Section 1.
Dover has been a competitive school for most varsity sports. However, the lack of senior athletes for its basketball teams has forced the school to field only junior varsity teams for girls and boys in the coming school year, with plans to return to varsity.
