Track athletes headed to college

The website Armory Track is reporting four Section 9 athlete college signings. Sprinter Justin McCollin of Monroe-Woodbury is headed to Cornell. Washingtonville’s Vinny DiSalvo and Minisink Valley’s Jake Albino are headed to Maryland-Baltimore County. Washingtonville’s Nick Caesar is headed to West Point. Congratulations to all four.

Newburgh’s Makarova places 7th at World Figure Skating Championships

Newburgh Free Academy junior Ksenia Makarova, 17, placed seventh at the World Figure Skating Championships in Torino, Italy.
