New York football camps open Monday

Finally, right? And I’m going to try to bring you as much football as possible over the next three months, starting Monday.

I will be tourning camps all week, checking out what’s going on and even shooting some video for Varsity845. By the way, the football show will be back – with a few solid tweaks, we believe. On Monday, I’ll be hitting Port Jervis, with new coach Mark Trotta, taking a quick drive over the border to Delaware Valley, Pa., then off to Minisink Valley. On Tuesday, I’ll be visiting Monroe-Woodbury, Washingtonville and Chester. Wednesday will be Tri-Valley, Liberty and Livingston Manor/Roscoe. I hope to creep into Ulster County on Thursday, then finish up Friday back in Orange County.

I’m also working on a pre-season feature about how camps/showcases/workouts have kids take all type of physical tests, which go a long way toward determining the college level. If you’ve done this and would like to contribute, give me a call at 346-3194 or write me at kwitt@th-record.com.
